edit: half done on mar 15, half on mar 19
lj week is strange. i mean, today, all i had was chinese and english, with about 5 hours of free time in between, but tmr, i'll be having this crazy schedule of trip sci, math, ss and hist T.T
anws, time to update on sedili xD
day 1:reported at the foyer at around 7.00. first time in the hols i had to wake up so early. D: the bus ride was seriously long, like about 3 plus hours in total? yeah. meijia was like a rock the whole time xD meijia+mp3+manga (wah 3ms!) = no response. the fields along the way were all filled with oil palms, unlike the cattle that dotted wales' meadows. oh yeah, not to mention it rained the whole way...
first stop was at this palm oil refinery, which was practically spewing out smoke. AIR POLLUTTIOONNNN. i suddenly felt very bad ))): but the factory workers were quite nice, they gave us a brief talk about how the palm oil is produced from the fruits. no factory tour though, im slightly relieved. haha. the place didnt look so... pleasant. esp with the rain and all.

i did say pollution didnt i? and mr lim just had to get us all to take a pic in front of the factory. uh huh.

next was our resort! which was located in the middle of an oil palm plantation. took us about half an hour just to drive in. after we settled, we were just in time for lunch. which was fabulous!! the food is awesome!! xDxDxD i think that made the whole trip more enjoyable xD

this was meijias breakfast the following morning. wonderful spread aint it? xD
anws, after lunch, we headed down to a nearby oil plantation, which was about 10 mins walk. we passed by a few houses on the way. there were cute little children waving at us! and ten year old guys riding motorcycles. how unfair. we dont even get to do that.
so there we were, in the middle of this vast spread of oil palms. mr andrew tay, the artist who hanged out with us last time at ubin was there too. he talked to us a little about the oil palm, and how growing it affects malaysia, and the world. midway, this ice cream man interrupted him and tried to sell us ice cream. how cute! too bad he didnt get any business cos everyone was chionging to head down to the shore before the rain started again. poor thing )):
so yeah, we went down to the shore when it began to drizzle. me, without my umbrella, was reduced to looking for stuff drenched to the skin. it was a cool experience, except the whole its-freaking-freezing thingy. xD my and lydia caught to huge crabs! by huge i mean about 10 cm across? i dunno. but apparently thats big for thats species.
when the rain got too heavy, we lugged ourselves back to our rooms completely soaked to the skin. being so cold, meijia and i were like heck, lets just shower in clothes. xDxDxD so basically we rinsed ourselves out with our clothes on. quite a cool experience. it was then when meijia spotted the frog in our bathroom. FROG! (later identified to be male, and thus PEEPINGTOM.) of course meijias cry brought everyone into the toilet, so i guess it was lucky she was fully clothed.
after that, we were just in time for tea! DONUTSSS. I LOVE DONUTS. xDxDxD THEY ARE
EXCITING. and then group discussion and presentation. the teachers miraculously produced a visualisor. ahh... the wonders of human invention. (best of which is AIRCON) and then after tea was dinner, yeah i did eat a lot those two days xD.
after dinner was NIGHTWALK! we went to catch frogs! how facinating! i bet you envy me. right? right. our bunk was once again last to arrive (by now mr lim didnt even need to check whether we were there or not, because we werent) BUT this time we had a legitimate reason. we were catching frogs! in our bathroom! it went something like this.
me: oh no its going to jump out! hurry hurry get a plastic bag! PLASTIC BAG! AHHHH.meijia: I WANT TO CATCH IT! I WANT TO CATCH IT!(zhenjia shoves plastica bag at meijia, who bounds into the bathtub.)me: omg dont scare it! later it hop away(meijia flicks frog. it lands in the basin amist screams. poor frog. it decides its not safe in the sink and hops! nearly landing in the toilet bowl xD and then the wall. meijia clamps hand over it)meijia: I GOT IT! YAY!-applause and cheers cos WE ROCK-i got to carry the little fellow to the meeting point. i think it was scared stiff. but mr lim seemed please with out find. apparently it was a four lined tree frog. how cool! we saw more cool frogs that night. like the tiny chorus frogs about 3 cm across. and the bull frogs who were gathered around a pond bellowing their lungs out. poor things. what males do for females. xD once again i was short of an essential item- a torchlight, so most of the time i hanged around trying not to accidentally walk into the pond. xD
that night, a blackout shocked our bunk. but it got restored after a while. damage to germaines nerves were done already though, so she insisted Mas Selamat was going to attack us in the middle of the night, and made us drag the table over to the door, which was unfortunately, made of rattan. haha. and she talked for real long on the phone with her mom too. sigh. it was a tad amusing.
meijia and i blacked out at around 12.3.0. the rest? who knows?
day 2:woke up to muslims praying. they are so devoted! how admirable! praying 5 times a day and at 6 in the morning everyday. wow!
breakfast, as mentioned, was wonderous. the teachers were all really excited cos it WASNT RAINING! yay! we headed down to the shore the moment we could. everyone was supposed to do transects, which i did do, for a while. then after that i got distracted by the fishes and the anemone and the sea cucumbers and the other funky things. xD meijia caught a fish! i forgot what it was called, but it looked like a mudskipper. i like rocky shores! they are so filled with life. and we dont even have to climb up huge hills or walk miles to see them. haha. yeah im lazy.
at noon, we were once again greeted with awesome food. too bad it was our last meal. sedili has been gapinglu short compared to wales. I MISS WALESSSSS. the smell of the morning air, the taste of the foods, the sights, the sounds of the gulls, the whole feel of that place. gosh i wish i could go again! T.T -heartbreak-
ah wells. it was a good trip. i think the teachers did a great job with it. xD it was all quite smooth, despite the rain, until we got to the checkpoint (BIOMETRIC PASSPORTS ROCK. TECHNOLOGY IS COOL) and had to wait one hour for half the people cos some silly billy decided to take a picture of the checkpoint. T.T

the place where we stand around and peer at South China Sea. Meijia dropped her slipper over the ledge once (which arose to the classic meijia wails). mr evans kindly went to pick it up, but whilst meijia was hopping down the stairs, he threw it upwards to mr lim, who hid it and refused to give it back to meijia. xD amusement+meijias whining= more amusement. lols.
YAY DONE. ITS ALMOST TWELVE.
