i stole grace's handbook during analysing talk today
and then sarah chong retaliated. the ones that dont look like anything are her scribbles.
and then jap came in. jacq goes "WHY ARE I SCARY!" -pause- "and why is grace CUTE! hey!"

i clocked another 6 hours in today and havent sat down since 3.30.
yes my legs are dying.
my products have gradually found its way from sustainable to edible and are now bordering tasty. im rather proud of my tea eggs. they taste... like my moms ^^ easy and delicious, maybe i'll make a batch for class party. and the duck soup the day before was not too bad. today's baked pasta resulted in something more like spaghetti bolognese, but hey it was quite good! i had two bowls (: so did my sis.
im beginning to understand why Homemaker is even listed as an occupation. its a demanding job. im lucky my sis can be persuaded to help with the vacuuming and laundry occasionally, or school and housework will just kill me. they burn calories like nuts (the only bad thing about cooking is you eat all the calories back after that but who cares. i need to fit into my prom dress anws. uh, yeah. its slightly big.) plus it requires me to pull out even the most high-levelled multitasking skills i have acquired after 4 years of rafflesian education. like that time i cooked, vacuumed and wrote my chinese compo at the same time. ^^
all i really want to do now is to grab a carton of ben and jerry's and a copy of eclipse and sit on my bed and read. but until my mom recovers that'll have to wait. plus its quite satisfying knowing that you can be of help. esp knowing that people will starve to death if you dont feed them. muahahaha.

sarah: eh jo. you want to get a job? me: -blinkblink- ok. where? sarah: at globetrotters. abi and jingyi are working there! its quite close, at novena. plus they get paid like $6.50 per hour which is quite good compared to macs. and they get free food and ice cream! me: oh ok. when are you going..? sarah: i dunno. today? -laughs at absurdity- me: ok. sure.
and so today began. a very strange and happening today indeed. as agreed, sarah, grace and i headed down to novena after math and 2 hrs of chinese, made a beeline for globetrotters and then stood outside awkwardly for a moment trying to figure out how exactly to ask "HELLO ARE YOU HIRING." without sounding too desperate. in the end the waitress approached us to ask us if we would like to order T.T and we found out that the manager wasnt in. so we wandered about united square for a while, having lunch and staring at the interesting shops like ben and jerry's trying to figure out if they would hire us to be ice cream creators (or in sarahs case, tasters) we returned to find that the manager had returned and instantly we were handed forms. followed by job interviews. i stepped out of the whole frenzy after discussing with my mom and deciding that as alluring as free ice cream was, i may have better places to spend my time. sarah and grace though, got interviewed on the spot. quite exciting. xD
after that rather fast (and i wonder, was it rash and impulsive?) decision to GET A JOB. we headed, a bit giddy from the speed of ZOMG I JUST GOT MY FIRST JOB INTERVIEW, back to school for options (how anticlimatic)
at this point, im sending an email to my moms doctor to see if he would let me volunteer at his clinic. now that would be interesting. hope he agrees!
so yes. what have i learnt today? if you want something, just go ahead and ask. after all,
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you/ For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
i asked for strength and He sent me angels. for the people who has expressed concern, cheered me up and on and stood by me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. this may be a physically and mentally tiring period, but with all of you and Him, i believe ive got enough strength spiritually and emotionally to 赴汤蹈火。

edit: ra applications due tmr? well. i guess not then. anws we'll be outnumbered by the males.
the last few days, and the next few weeks will be busy.
in between doing all the cooking and cleaning (majority, since my sis helps with some) and taking care of my mom and myself (DIE LYMPHNODES DIE) and school, its getting tough to find time to do all my hw, let alone study for More Important Things. im glad schools not that taxing these days though, else i really would have no idea where to find the energy to do all that i need to. i guess im pretty much at the bottom of the Marslows Pyramid right now. but i dont really mind. its a relatively nice place.
on the other hand, i woke up this morning in major pain. and felt dizzy halfway through math until the rest of the morning flew by. i blame it on the meds. not taking those anymore. not in the mornings anws. i actually need to function.
my doctor prescribed me some sleep. i wonder...
p.s. mamma mia on the left hand side. i wanna watch! but again, i wonder...

and thats a failed attempt to learn from 幾米, my fav chinese writer to date. mainly because he has to ability to communicate a single, rather complex idea/emotion in a few short sentences (or one) and a picture.
the doodle is eurgh. i might try again harder, but not tonight. dont feel like it. havent felt like drawing in a while.

i am almost ashamed to say this. but...
dr slatters class is almost as good as Ms May Tans.
dont get me wrong now. despite her um, rather controversial personality, i accredit my current interest in chem (all time high, mind you) wholly to her. sure, shes not the extremely encouraging kind (ive pretty much lost count of how many times my wses have been returned to me with NONSENSE printed neatly in red), although she can be at times, or the extremely kind teachers (try being late for her class). but Ms May Tan, with her no-nonsense attitude, have single-handed raised a passion for chem in me that previously existed, if at all, merely in a spark. its her clampdown on mistakes and dangers that bred a cautious chemist in me, her sharp attention to detail that honed my observation skills and her challenging lessons that have kept me on my toes (or pentips) for these two years, making her classes all the more interesting (even if you do emerge from them feeling like you've just fought WWIII but cant figure out if you won or not). i dont use this pharse lightly, when i say that Ms May Tan has quite sufficiently, single-handedly changed my life and i thank God for blessing me with the honour of being in her class.
so, naturally, i thought that there certainly cant be another class like Ms May Tan's classes. esp with the rumours (or truths) circling certain other members of our chem dept. but today, dr slatter came close.
in fact, if there were any bad points at all, there will only be two.
1. im too used to Ms May Tan's bullet-train speed classes, so todays 3-hour long practical (HA! DOESNT EXIST IN MS MAY TANS WORLD) which resulted in all but 5 general learning points was a little laggy. 2. im also too used to being in a small class, where the teacher can actually pay attention to each individual student. not so much so in a 30 person class. i fear for next years 50 person classes. D:
besides that, both of which Could Not Be Avoided, it was pretty GREAT. if i do use one word to describe both Ms May Tan and dr slatters lessons, it would be enlightening. in fact, i may even consider taking h3 chem next year. (though that depends on if i can handle the rest of the subjs next year) we touched on aldehydes and ketones (ORG CHEM :D:D:D) and would probably start on pharm chem in the next few lessons (i have one tmr). im looking forward to them! xD
as a sidenote, depp appeared on mobtv today on my way home. <33

こんにちは!
im tempted to pretend that i shall continue the rest of this post in 日本語, but sadly, my jap vocab ends about there. xD at times like this i really envy lang-pros like zan! then i could proficient in jap, italian, spanish french and malay like i wish i am, instead of continuing the uphill struggle with my english and chinese. D:
the previous post pretty much commenced my Pass O Level HCL Campaign, which includes a chinese post a week, so look out for those meager attempts at written (or type-n) chinese.
leaving my inadequacies aside, its wed! which means i ought to be at rams, cept shes out, so im not. -strikes out list- and it also means that the hols are just about halfway over, and i still havent accomplished much, although ive already started on chem. the rest of the time though, have been pretty much spent outside (met up with ms ng and annie for lunch on mon) or watching tv xD as well as focusing on the To Do List. havent really summoned up the energy to paint though, but i'll get down to it before the New Year. promise. meeting the apcg group again on friday would be fun. really cant wait till T4W1's over. then the party really begins.
oh yes, i forgot to post about my options! i successfully swapped my way into PharmChem Class 3, which means im now in loong and fik (whose name has appeared in every one of my last three posts. how... freaky.) and mr segerra's class. the other two options i have are analyzing talk,by ms lim and mr chew's class on business, which im looking forward to attending. thats pretty much about all i wanted, so im really quite satisfied. plus i get wed off! T4 looks to be good (excluding week 1 of course.)
and so i shall end my post about nothing (as usual) have fun for the rest of the hols!
