woke up EARLY today, considering i only roll out of bed at 11 these days.

headed done to school to hand in my philo. philo! its now out of my hands. -feels extremely happy. if my essay is incoherent its the philo depts fault for giving us so little time.

but anws. have i told you how much i like our security guards? they're so vigilant! i actually got stopped twice today cos i wasnt in school u ^^ glad to know they pay attention.

after that i went over to plaza sing to meet up with the imcb people. between the five of us its like we never have common free times or something T.T the plan was food then movie, but sarah and cw were convinced we wouldnt have enough time and insisted we watch the 1045 movie xD which meant the theater was rather empty. hahaha. we joked that because there were five of us, we could each sit in on corner of the theater and have one person in the centre and then scream our comments across the whole theater. talk about embarrassment to our age group mans ahahahha.


us in a row! because we couldnt help but be retarded. sry my camera phone a bit lousy. plus it was dark. but it was cute!

indiana jones was so indiana jones-ish. shia labeouf is so totally next-indiana-jones material! but yeah the movie was ok. typical ancient mystery thing. cept i got quite cheated in the end when the ancient people turned out to be aliens T.T not even bad aliens who go around killing people or spread strange viruses, but kind aliens who teach us how to grow crops T.T and when the flying saucer rose from amongst the ruins and headed to the "space between spaces" i was totally HUH?! didnt make any sense.

moral of the story? when atomic bombs erupt, hide in refrigerator.

but haha it was quite a fun show lah. esp when you watch it with totally retarded people! seriously throughout the movie it was like yuda and sarah fighting for popcorn with me in the center. i would have moved cept then they'll probably start a fight >< and then towards the middle sarah got so freaked out everytime something sudden happens, she'll cling on to me and not let go. or bury her head in my lap. hahahhaa. she made ME freak out when she freaked out randomly in the show. it was quite amusing xD

after the show we headed down to eat. as usual deciding what to eat was a problem! so we randomly picked carls jnr. yuda was very pleased with carls jnr. apparently its meals were just the right size. seriously ill never get used to how much he eats. by right he should be like 2.0m now! sarah on the other hand had this bowl of salad. which she complained had too much veggies in it D: hahah.

yeah we're quite a dumb bunch of people xD i like! i think our imcb groups real cool. like how many people are still in touch with theirs?

and now that i got philo outta my hands, theres nothing left to distract me from being totally restless about my trip. sighs. i hate being restless! for two whole days too! and i havent started packing D:

plan for trip:
1. fly to shanghai-5 hours
2. stay in shanghai for three days. shop, visit my relatives (I LOVE MY GRANDPARENTS), eat
3. fly to LA
4. stay for a day
5. fly to Florida
6. disneyworld six days xD
7. stay at moms friends house for rest of trip
8. fly back to shanghai
9. stay for a few hours
10. return home on the 18th

and so i present to you, the difference between an ALPACA and a GUANACO.

this is a guanaco.



and this is an alpaca.



both are llamas that live in south america. both have been domesticated for the past dunno how many thousands of years. and they even have hair of the same thickness! (16-18 micrometers in diameter)

but they are different! for one, alpacas are distinctively hairier, as can be seen. it makes them loads cuter. to me at least. sorta like a hairy dog. and for another, alpacas are the mascots for world scholars cup this year, while guanacos are well... not cool enough. (ahahaha i just used "cool" to describe world scholars cup.)

ahahaha. im very happy.

i havent been much happy these days >< to borrow theos quote, this week has been like a cosine graph! largely below my usual energy line

sysf was very o.o. as expected, we didnt win a thing, but very unexpected was the lack of pretty stickers on rgs posters in general. ah wells. i dont think a lot of us really bothered anymores. ri did really well though! they even won an award for winning the most awards xD! daniels team got both gold and most enterprising award. O: so pros!

so anws, after the opening ceremony and prize presentation and all, we began to stone. ok actually we were supposed to present our projects to any curious onlookers, but well, curious onlookers usually were more curious about projects that won awards >< so after a while, we all started to get hungry and there was this general shift towards the reception area.

cept it was, very sadly, empty. so we sat around and waited for the food to arrive, much like vultures. and when it did arrive all the people standing around was like o.o! not because of the food, but because when the food arrived, as if on cue, so did about 60-70 primary school students. HUNGRY pri school students. and they just swarmed all over the table. no queues no nothing. everyone was like O:! (a few guys behind us voiced their annoyance quite loudly) and it was really quite sad because wells, it made getting to the food very difficult.

so after we fought tooth and nail (i really mean tooth and nail. anything put out was gone in like minutes. and the food was good!) for a reasonable amount of grub, we found ourselves a table and sat around it to eat. eating gradually lead to joking. and my were there lame jokes! let me give you some examples

meijia: what happens when you eat a black berry!
nad: you get a blue tooth!

jingles: a man was walking past a door when he heard a group of people behind the door chanting "thirteen, thirteen, thirteen". he became really curious and so decided to look through a hole in the door to find out why they were chanting thirteen. suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his eye! and then he heard them chant again "fourteen fourteen fourteen"

yeahhh. and there were others, from blonde jokes to chuck norris jokes to confucius jokes to pick up lines to heaven and hell jokes. lols. we're such a dumb bunch of people. and so basically we joked. from lunch to like about 3. by that time, most of the schools were already leaving, so we did as well ><

not one of my best pieces, but i put in a lot of thought into this one, so thats what i want to share.

if it was slightly better, i would have named it "The Everyday Gymnast". basically what i wanted it to reflect upon was how every single person is essentially like a gymnast. everyday, we stand at the cliff of what can be, and then when tomorrow comes, everyone falls into reality.

like fall. literally.

and while we stand high up there, on top of all our own (and everyone elses's) expectations, we are very very clear that no matter how hard we fall, whether or not we break our fall before our fall breaks us, when we reach the bottom of the cliff, we still have to stand up and climb up that same cliff all over again. because nothing waits for anyone. and because if we stop, it will all be over.

and we all know, that no one can tell you how terribly it would hurt until you reach the bottom and feel it for yourself. and tat no amount of preparation can help you predict the future. which is why my gymnast has pigtails. the naivety (i swear i dunno if this is even a word) of people in general.

yet, like a gymnast who knows about the risks of his/her sport, we brave our selves, gather up our courage, close our eyes and accept the challenge.

and then we fall.

anws, todays date was awesome! haha i love watching movies with ram. we always have such fun! plus fangyi too today. hahahhaa. fang and i were suanning ram like mad. ironman is a good movie! the only problem is that HE NEVER DIES. srsly, even if my armour was made with titanium whatevers, im quite sure i'll need more than an ice pack after being thrown around and blown up like a doll. T.T but r.d.jr is very ironman-ish! more ironman-ish then tom cruise will even be!

made of honour is your typical romantic comedy. ya know, the guy always gets the girl in the end. haha. patrick dempsey is ok, but i guess thats cos i was never very AHHHH about him, unlike ram.

and so i have attained the closure i require, at least for the time being. im still in need to a good shopping spree! which my mom promises me we'll do once we go to florida :D CANT WAIT.

we got back our mid year reports today D:

in a way im happy, cos i did manage to pull most of my weak subjs up! im proud to say i dont have anything under 3.2 now, not even chinese :D

but then i guess i could have done better. like i let a few of my stronger subjs drop. sighs. i totally could have gotten another 3 4.0s! grrrrr. im very angry at physics. D: AND SO I WILL DO SUPERBLY WELL FOR THOSE SUBJECTS NEXT TERM! even math! although i did calculate that if i were to get a 4.0, i'll have to get 90% for all my math tests next term T.T but still i blatantly put that ambitious aim down in my reflections. AND SO BY HOOK OR BY CROOK, WITH OR WITHOUT APCG, WHETHER OR NOT I DIE TRYING, I WILL GET 90% FOR MATH!

and today was DOOMSDAY PART I. PART I becuase PART II is on thursday. which doesnt make much sense, but wtv. i guess today went ok lah. i mean, everything was within expectations, some beyond :D so hurrays for that. like i said, wasnt too freaked out about today cos 1. i was too sleepy (seriously i conk out after apcg trgs. i really wonder how chan can still read 100 emails and do two cca proposals. power girl. her apcg buddy is in awesome luck) and 2. i didnt actually know what to freak out about. xD but im kinda worried for thurs though. all trip sci maths. how... mean. MS MAY TAN SAYS WE ALL HAVE TO GET 80%! D: when ms may tan says something means you better do it. so i better get 80% for chem. AHHHHHH. STRESS.

(refer to quotes for more info) and he likes listening to symphonic metal. i dont even know how symphonic metal sounds like! (other than an oxymoron), GEOFF who's the duck lover. xD thus, we cannot do without him! or else we'll just be raffes. (looks like raffles!) hes the himbo one, and thus does extremely uh. funky Oh MY GODs xD makes it seem like joho, zaki and geoff are constantly challenging each other to see who's the bigger bimbo lols, AARON who was Paris Hilton in the Who Am I? game, thereby making him now longer qualified to be called a "manly guy" ahahah kidding. scarely later our whole groups turns into this bimbo mess. we have too much influence! xD

im so tired my eyes are actually crossing, so forgive me if this update about apcg day 2! is completely incoherent and random.

anws, i arrived nice and on time at 8.15 at ri. haha i was welcomed by yuda and zongyi, but due to my constant death threats ( OH YOU IDIOT I STILL HAVE NOT FORGIVEN YOU FOR 1408) yuda made sure there was always this gap between us. so anws. it appears that i was the only one to come from the bus stop gates ahaha. is very honoured. the rest came via the tennis court gates.

so we went to the junior block (which is ACTUALLY CONCRETE and so totally not made of container blocks) were our trg was to be held. although the seminar room is not as pretty as clc, but they have many more of those than we do!

so we basically started off with an icebreaker, which was done by biq ideas. it was the Who Am I game, and i was David Beckam! (IM RICH :D) aaron was paris hilton, which was hilarious, and juan was pikachu T.T.

after that was the water thingy, and geoff faciled us on that. then was tea (ri food puts rg food to shame D:) after that was basically reflections and service learning stuffs. lecture style, so it was a tad dry, but still ok lah. i think the rg people have been trained to sit through these things, although people like isaac were struggling without their coffee. ahaha. then we had a school tour.

AHHHH RI IS SERIOUSLY ROCKIN' ITS HUGE AND SO WELL EQUIPPED. SERIOUSLY ITS AWESOME. likelikelike their artificial turf (which totally doesnt make sense cos how come we get the mud and the guys dont?!) and their GYM -hyperventilates- HOW COME THEY HAVE SUCH AN AWESOME GYMMM?! our gym so doesnt count anymore. all we have are MATS. and their library!!!! oh. my. god. their library is so heavenly! its actually like a library and totally exudes the "library feel". ok i can go on forever. T.T and people once thought rgs was big.

so, besides managing to show off the awesomeness of ri, the school tour also managed to make me effectively very confused. i will be needing a map T.T although i'll probably not be able to read it T.T. so as a survival guide, ive decided to keep these two points in mind:

1. NEVER LEAVE YOUR RI BUDDY BEHIND.
2. NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT YOUR PHONE, BECAUSE IF YOU GET LOST, THERES TOTALLY NO WAY ANYONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAMING.

yeah.

after the tour, we had lunch (food was amazing again). then uh we did more icebreakers! invaders lols. it was HOT. terribly tiring. but fun. eventually we became a big group of girls and a big group of guys, cos none of the guys wanted to squeeze amongst a bunch of girls (and maybe sit on them) and the girls were vice versa.

yups. after that was more talk, although the "zz monster" was attacking everyone by then. ahahaha.

so yeah. bascially thats how the whole day went. super packed with loads of content and stuff to absorb. im not sure i got all, so i may have to relook some stuffs. yeah. and because we had less games, it was less fun than the previous trg day, but it was ok lah. POSITIVE ATTITUDE PEOPLE.

duraffes coming over to my place on vesak day to discuss our icebreakers. we're ic of games for day 3= 1 hour xD (this is where zaki went: WHY. WHY DIDNT WE VOLUNTEER FOR THE ONE WHICH IS HALF AN HOUR.) im letting them into the clubhouse only. my house is too messy to be visited. and too small to fit uh. 10 people. ahahahah.

im happy xD i wasnt planning to, but after i found out even charles managed to get rid off one, i decided i ought to give it a try. heh. so i basically strolled over to the club house and handed it to some random people playing squash. when they found out they laughed at me T.T

but anws, my three pieces of info, of which was all observed (the facil never say cannot):
1. they play squash
2. they live in my condo
3. they are related! ones the father and ones the son

awesomeness.

next task of the day: clean up my post-mugging table :D if i have time i shall try a hand at another painting, basically i hope to paint wales eventually, so i need to take tiny baby steps towards my goal! xD

in a flash, it is done.

i've promised myself this for a while now, and im really happy that i did get down to doing. and it looks great! for someone who hasnt touched the brush since she quit om in sec one, it turned out a lot better than i could expect.

and so, i present to you all, my first painting in 3 years: The Tree (if it isnt already obvious enough)



personally, i think its quite the spiritually cleansing. haha sounds a bit weird. but painting to me is like meditating. its something thats precious and really should be done more often. when you paint, you focus, or at least i do, on nothing but the picture before you. you have absolute control on things. you can choose to make the painting brighter, with dabs of yellow, or a little more sober, with more blue. nothing else matters except what you want. yeah i do mostly work with another painting, meaning im a copier, i copy the other persons painting, but its not the same. although you do have a goal of making your painting similar to the one before you, the original piece is just a reference. as ive learnt, its impossible to make the two absolutely identical and its stupid. you have less fun that way (: fundamentally, whatever comes out is yours and yours only. so who cares if someone comes up to me and says hey your tree is so not a tree, its more like green candy floss on a stick. so be it!

onto my next piece! this ones done in my usual pencil. xD i enjoy pencil work as well and i usually do it more for nothing but lazy reasons. painting is a messy job xD so usually i work with pencil, but its still doesn't accomplish what painting does. for one, its less pretty cos there is no colour, and so its also more challenging to express what you really want. and also because there is less colour, there is less fun xD. one of the great things i love about painting is the mixing of the colours. its... i dunno. strangely calming when you mix two colours and come up with a new one. like when you have yellow, and you add green, with a tinge of blue and a dab of white, you come up with another beautiful colour! i really dont think that theres any "unpretty" colour, so to speak, unless if you mix too many dark colours together and end of with this brown. black mess.

haha this one was done during the myas yeah. i have this horrid habit of wanting to draw during the myas. its totally doesnt help. especially since i cannot stand not drawing when i want to. whenever i get inspired i need to get down to doing it asap, or else it gets to me like a 百年老虫. ahahaha. yeah.

the New Age Playboy is one of those pieces which are done purely for fun. means no inspiration no nothing, just sit down and churn out strange shapes and then try to make something out of it xD. its very ufn to do things like that. yeah. in apcg terms this would be called incidental. lols.

i can't believe im already up. its 7! and i totally planned on sleeping to 11. sighs. i think my sleeping times have been quite screwed lately. but now that the myas are over, i shall try to find it back.

ahhh. i can't stand it! im a sleeper! SLEEPING IS IMPORTANT TO ME! (haha i sound so pig). but once i dont get enough sleep, or mess up my timings my whole day (and sometimes week) is gone. yeah. i can't keep up my high-ness if im sleepy. and then i cant think coherently.

which i evidently am not because somehow im blogging about sleeping. how weird is that? sorry. you shall indulge me, because i currently have nothing better to do.

and i also am not a morning person. my brain usually doesnt work until after 7 on school days. xD so mornings are usually a quiet affair. unless is cant find something. then i start freaking out and turning the whole place over. yeah.

ok ive run out of things to talk about sleep.

oh yes! i meant to do this yesterday, but then i somehow i ended up with more msn convos than i could manage.

and since ive now ran out of things to say, i hall re-read Life of Pi (which i completely enjoy. wonderful thought-provoking book with an awesome pace.). maybe ill go back to sleep later. or paint. i need to paint.

APCG trg Day 1!

i am very very pleased to say that it was all better than expected. yeah sure, we started off a little shy, i mean who doesnt? plus for some of us (like me) its the first time worked with a mixed crowd. but anws, we warmed up pretty well so yeah, im happy xD

so, we started off with the usual ice breaking stuffs. after hearing so much about some people, im glad to say ive managed to finally say hi. you know that funny feeling when all your friends tell you about so-and-so and then you know so much random things about him but dont actually know him. yeah. terrible lah! haha. i do hope we get to know everyone better through these two months though, we look like an awesome crowd.

anws. on with the prog.

icebreakers was followed by a short lecture on service learning (although im not too sure how that relates to apcg) and then a bit on the experiential learning cycle, which is like yeah. the usual kinda stuff. then we had tea! and after that, we had our first "game", which was called traffic jam. yeah it was fun! haha. it needed a little brainwork, but after the guys worked out the whole complex moving thing my brain was only left with the brainless bits. hahaha.

then more lectures. on multiple intelligence (apparently im interpersonal and intrapersonal, but i did get like practically everything else tied for 6 points. does that mean im multi-intelligent? xD) and six generations of facilitation. i think its quite comprehensive and helpful. i mean, these things are good to know. (:

then was lunch! ahaha i think i drove my group mates insane with cries of hunger. WELL IM SORRY I HAVE A HEALTHY APPETITE D: breaks are fun cos they mean mingle time, which helps.

after lunch was the exciting "bomb game". yeah. i shant elaborate on how its played, except it was really awesome and totally brought us all together. yeah. tiny baby steps are important when you're working with like...49 other people. bombs are tiny baby steps. isaac was our leader and short and aaron were our spies. i think we took like 6 tries to stop the bomb and our best timing was 45 secs. haha but that doesnt really matter much. cos we were really damn cool playing it! like you could totally feel the energy. hahah everyone was super high and i think isaac almost yelled his throat hoarse. yups.

after that were more reflections and stuff. angela was in charge of my group and chans group. i think shes quite a great facil. must pay attention to how she works us and try to learn from that. yeah.

so basically it was kinda like trg+food+games all mashed into one day. i'll have to say that its one of the best workshops ive gone for and totally worth my time. plus the people are real fun, so im looking forward to working with them xD

onward to day 2: monday!

(and im sorry if this post is slightly illogical because im trying to do fifty things at a time)

OH YES MY GROUP! we are the duraffes, cos i love giraffes and geoffrey loves ducks. so, we mutated the two animals ahahaa. yeah i felt quite bad for the animals. they looked sad xD but i think we rock (: we're made of good people, although not as high as like BiQIDEAS or whatever chans group is called, i think i can see us becoming a great team. yups.

tmr is apcg workshop day one. Mrs Chew told us to make the guys feel welcome today. ahahaha. ah wells. im glad im part of it. its a great privilege to get to work with all these funky people from around the asai pacific region. uh huh!

and as for our post mya activities, i missed the ironman movie trip cos of apcg briefing, but i did manage to catch lunch with chan, resh, juan and joce. retardednesss.
