MONDAY!!
no that was false excitement. but today wasnt all that bad for a monday. a bit of a waste of time in school though. RECESS FREE BLOCK LUNCH. wahhhhh. we just wasted the whole two hours sitting in the canteen and talking about the stupid stuff we used to do in pri school. then again we still do stupid stuff xD
then after that was the first bio lesson by the New Bio Teacher aka Mr Ng The Med Student. haha he was... well. he has no experience in teaching and so for his second class, he got us. poor thing xD no one deserves such a terrifying experience!
then after school was the bg recee. mr lim, joce and i piled into mr laus car. theo joined us later. it was, as in mr lau's words, "a very worthwhile trip" (but thats just cos he saw the tembusu tree thats on our $5 note and got really excited about it) mr laus so enthu about stuff. but yeah, we tapped into mr lims vast knowledge about sg botany and managed to locate all our stations, as well as nearby shelters in case of wet weather. and mr lau treated us to snapple! :D:D we have such wonderfully nice teachers.

its weekend! which also means the insanely hectic last week is officially over and the next hectic week is about to begin xD
basically ive been focusing a lot on tv and apcg bg stuffs this week. my hw feels neglected. heh. but yeah, for those who did come for tv, i hope you enjoyed the performance! im really really proud of lisa and george and resh and shaina for their effort. it was really a very fun night, both for the performances and the audience. kudos also goes to my team, ram sarah and yifei ^^
as for apcg, its only two weeks away now. OOOOO:! seems so fast! ahhhhhhh. i think these two weeks will be filled with meetings, but -shrugs- thats how it is xD
so i will be catching up with all my hw now. and hopefully get somemore rest. the lymph nodes on my neck are less swollen now, but i should probably rest more to make sure they dont swell up again ^^

the past few days have been insane! its not good to have tv (SOLD OUT SHOW!) and bg proposal due on the same day! which is tmr. grrrrr.

and then after that was opticians appointment to collect my new contacts, where my optician assured me that the bump on my left eyelid is not a tumour like i though it was (no im just kidding). whichis good news, seeing how im practically a walking medical emergency (again im just kidding)

and so im home now, and extremely zonked out. its about 4/5 in the morning in us now? my body is very not here. haha. so pardon me for abrupt and direct language.
anws, the last day at florida was
perfecto! aunt sue's sisters boyfriend brought us on a joy ride on his fishing/speedboat. it was cooolllll! those who went on speedboats before would understand. it owned the one i took in wales last year! haha. and to top off the sundae (like literally sunday as well ahahhaa) with a cherry, we were very fortunate to spot porpoises almost at the edge of our boat. AWESOMMEEE.
and then we went to joshs parents restaurant for sushi xD
and then we flew to la, where we stayed a night. landed at 2am left again at 11am to fly to shanghai.
landed in shanghai yesterday. slept over at my p. grandparents house before heading back to sg this morning.
which makes about 24 hours worth of flying. ive sat till my ass hurts! its still very unhappy about being sat on right now. plus everytime i sit down i get the feeling of a turbulence. isnt this mighty unfortunate?
and i have school tmr. rawrrrrrr.

hello people! today was a very exciting day xD
but first, i realised that the people ive been living with for the past two days, providing us with not only food, lodging and also the all impt transport (for those who've been here you should know how america is like. no buses, no subway, not even taxi, unless you're in a city. so no car= screwed) have not really been mentioned.
which they totally deserve.
my moms friend, aka aunt sue, her husband, uncle lee, her 14 year old son, whose head touches the ceiling in a bus, andrew, her 9 year old boy, elton, her 6 year old daughter, angela aka annie and her 20 year old nephew, josh. haha with all these people plus us hanging around lifes bound to be exciting.
as today was.
we woke up real early to head down to kennedy space center, part of nasa, which is a two hour drive. josh drived and played funky music along the way. when we got there, we found to our great joy that a shuttle was landing today! so for the first time in my life, i watched a space shuttle land. and experienced a sonic boom. cool right! the sonic boom was cool xD
and then there were tours, exhibits and simulations. quite fun!
also for the first time today, i held a loaded sniper rifle. yeah. uncle lee has a weapon store. everything from rifles to pistols.
im leaving this place tmr after a speed boat ride and lunch by the beach. )))): i will miss this placeeeee!

seriously man.
this is one reason i love my holiday so much. its emotionally refreshing. to get as far away as possible from my life without leaving this earth and going to mars. although i did do that in the simulator in disneyland.
yeah. disney.
disney is the epitome of childhood. its THE freaking place to be. everything disney is happy. everyone gets a happily ever after. except evil people. everything is perfect. everything works out. its like.
heaven.thats the great thing about disney. and the reason why its made billions of dollars. i think. i mean, which other franchise has clothes, toys, food, movies, tv shows, paintings, pictures, theme parks, hotels, video games BLAHBLAHBLAH. DISNEY LIKE OWNS THE WORLD OR SOMETHING.
all because of little smiling mouse.
and the ability to embrace the inner desires of people. the slogan for disneyworld is "where wishes come true".
and its true. not real material wishes like "i wish ill get 4.0 for my eyas" and "i wish the rent would pay itself" or "i wish for world peace and to stop global warming" or wtv. in disneyland, reality steps aside. and dreams step in. cute, lovely, beautiful dreams. of fairies. flying children. princesses whom the world adore and love and has a prince in shining white armour who is her one true love. (i really dont know what disney represents to guys. buzz lightyear?)
and even though i did spend the first few days thinking about how impossible all this crap is in the real world. like "harhar where wishes come true. yeah right. as if thats possible. good marketing though" i realised, after a while, that it is.
this what matters.
not grades not money not wtv.
sure we could embrace all that worldly stuff. but for what. fundamentally what everyone strives for is happiness. and thats what disney sells.
happiness. in little moving people and animals that talk. in movies and video games. in those storybooks we all grew up listening.
it sells happiness.
and i buy it.
i bought it when i was younger. and maybe i lost it along the way to all the other stupid worldly acheivements. but now i believe again. i believe in fairytales (im sorry theo i didnt mean to steal your line xD)
i believe in happiness. its possible. disney told me that.
and thats why i love holiday. this is a true holiday. sure now im more tired then i was before with all the running about everyday. but who cares? im happy. and this is enough. will be enough. to keep me going.
the trust and faith and realisation that "hey, i am happy."
is there anything not to be happy about? right now?
ok maybe i dont have a pony. or a prince. or have saved the world yet. maybe my grades arent awesome. and that term three will not be a merry go round.
but so what?they say the present is a gift. and thats right. i think we all know that. we just have to learn to appreciate it. embrace it. love it. im not sure i know how to do that yet. i try though.
i have myself. i have the people around me. i have everything ive worked for. i know i will continue to work. i know i will continue to give and receive support.
and i know that the future will be bright.
because all roads lead to heaven.
and the one im on right now will as well.

kids are exhausting.
woke up this morning real early to head down to the beach to watch the sunrise. but it rained! so that was bad. xD but it was ok.
then when we got back, i watched the two kids for like, the whole afternoon. now that was like. crazy. running everywhere. making a lot of noise D: haha but it was fun lah.
thank goodness i actually like kids. my sis nearly died of insanity.
then we went shopping. and finally, finally, i got it. the thing ive scoured two countries for. hahah. I FEEL ACCOMPLISHED.
yeah thats about all. it was a longggg day.

howdy folks!
as you probably would have guessed by now, disney DOES NOT HAVE FREE INTERNET DDD: but ah wells, I think the past few days would have left no time for blogging anws xD
so I arrived in jacksonville international airport, florida, at 1am on 5th june, after a 4 hour flight from la to Atlanta and then a 45 min flight from Atlanta to Jacksonville (the 45 min flight was a breath of fresh air after all those long flights!)
my mom’s friend came to pick us up at the airport. She owns a few restaurants in her town, which is totally cool considering how she came to usa with practically nothing. The ride to her place was about an hour. She lives in a little house, which has a tree house! I love the houses in usa’s countryside ^^ they are so pretty!
The same morning, at 10 plus, we headed down to Orlando, florida with my mom’s friend, her sister and her nephew.
-pause to inhale-
FLORIDA IS FREAKINGG B-E-AUTIFUL ZOMGGG!!! :DXD:pD:0:O: its as hot as singapore, but actually has a breeze cos its near the coast. and the sun gets real hot at arnd 3 plus in the afternoons. but the weather is not the best part of this place. ITS SO GORGEOUS BIG! AND GREEN! which is a HUGE relief after shanghai.
I LOVE IT.-end of gushing (uh. maybe)-
We had dim sum at this Chinese place that’s not too bad. Then we went shopping! :D:D:D I think my trip has really just been a international shopping spree! ahahahaha. Then we checked in to disney and that’s where ive been for the past week xD
first day was epcot, where there was this totally cute interactive show with crush from finding nemo. the audience could ask questions and crush would answer. and he was funny!
Kid: Crush, why do only female turtles go up to the beach and lay their eggs?
Crush: well, uh that’s cos the dudes are totally clueless. Like when the females go “hey lets go up to the beach we were born on to lay our eggs!” and the dudes go “uhhhhh. what beach?”
-crowd laughs-
Crush: and did you know? when the temperatures hotter while the females are laying their eggs, the eggs hatch to females. Males are only hatched when the temperatures are lower. So remember, dudes are cool and chicks are hot!yeah ahahaha.
The next day was animal kingdom. which is sorta like the zoo, except a lot cooler, with rides. There was this safari ride where we took trucks into a small patch of safari and saw a couple of cool animals including GIRAFFFESSS! and this really funky rollercoaster called expedition everest. Its my second favourite ride in the whole of disney world :D:D:D my third favourite is this other ride also in animal kingdom called dinosaur. yups. all in all animal kingdom is my second favourite park!
The next two days we spent at magic kingdom, which is where all the classic snow white, peter pan etc rides are. The potc ride was under maintenance!!!! )))): how saddening. magic kingdom is also home to the three mountains: splash mountain, big thunder mountain railroad and space mountain! Space mountain, sadly, did not live up to my expectations. It was ok lah, but not as cool as expedition everest. And of course theres the traditional it’s a small world ride, which ive never failed to take in all the disney lands ive been to. which is almost all? xDxD
The best part of magic kingdom is the fireworks show called wishes. ZOMG AMAZZINGGGG. Fireworks don’t usually amaze me as much. They’re pretty, but none of them have ever stunned me like this one. im not sure if its just the whole “im in Disneyworld” thing, or the fact that the fireworks had cinderellas castle as a background, but it was just WHOA. gorgeousnesss! the whole time i was just like. jaw-droppped stunned or something xD
The fifth day was spent in disney’s Hollywood studios, my favourite park of all! sadly, I missed the two stunt shows D: but I took the two best rides three times each xD the first one is a this AWWESSOMEE rollercoaster called rock ‘n’ roller coaster. Its really really really cool!!!! and includes sections that are upside down. thankfully its indoors and in the dark so you don’t really get to see the world upside down. which would have totally freaked me out cos im scared of heights xD but you do see the people in front of your upside down, which is freaky! but cool. really really really really cool! I sat in front with my mom on the first ride cos my sis was too freaked out to sit in the front. haha.
the second best ride in the park/ fourth best ride in the whole "world" was this one called the tower of terror. Basically you sit in this elevator and it goes up and down. free fall freaks me out. It was really funny cos at the end of the ride my and my sis would go “lets take it again!” then before it drops we’ll freak out and be all “shit why did we do this AGAIN?!” hahahha.
there was also this other ride about toy story. we queued for an hour to get on it! our longest wait yet. basically it’s a shooting game in 3D. which is really cool! and I would have queued again if we had time xD
and i bought this really cute shirt from potc that declares in large words: I LOVE JACK. which just says it all :D:D
yups so the past few days have all been spent, as my mom puts it, like fightin a war. Out early, back late, very busy having fun. Hahahaha.
so that was uh yesterday? yups. today, we went to a water park called aquatica. basically SLIDES, SLIDES, SLIDES. big slides! small slides!
SHIOK. HOT. WET.

and so now im back at my moms friends place. with internet! so ill expect to be interneted for the next few days at least xD
(btw, i took pictures! cept i didnt bring the wire, so maybe after i get back. if i have time D:)

so anws its like 8 in the morning over here now and i just finished breakfast.
nothing really much to blog about, but then again i dont have anything else to do xD other then mugging that stack of math i brought but right now im ignoring it.
mom woke up at 4am cos of jetlag and subsequently woke everyone else up. im not a happy person at 4 in the morning xD but im ok at 8.
anws, was blog surfing when i realised a lot of posts nowadays are about next year/ jc life/ past pri/sec school life etc etc etc. nothing like a sad post filled with nostalgia to tell us how much time flies. its part of growing is it not? when we realise finally finally that our life is marked by time and that if we don't learn to appreciate it we'll be left with nothing. like lots of people have said maybe this a good thing, leaving behind those days of naively thinking that we could always do what we wanted, that life was simple and happiness was taken for granted. maybe thats why people hate growing up, cos it sucks to know that now you actually have to work your guts out for something you thought you would always have in the past.
but wtvs i refuse to think about next year yet, this year is already going to be a chore. haha. so we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
ahh what am i talking about haha. nvms.
term 3 is going to be very busy. at least thats what my email is telling me. apcg meetings plus chaos prep is already a signed deal. not that im complaining haha. i do enjoy meetings/working wiht people. when im not too tired from school and all the jazz. but most of the time i am. tired.

and so ive travelled from the east to the west! you know you're in america when your hotel shuttle bus drives pass a group of shops and you see this huge sign saying NUDES & XXX ADULT SHOP T.T
but before i get to the usa part, i shall continue from where i left off xD
day3, shanghai:
i visited my maternal grandparents this morning! my grandma came to pick me and my sis up at the hotel cos my parents went for some strange beauty treatment. my grandma is very enthusiastic about things. haha. so she was quite happy to come and visit us.
for breakfast, we ate at this place near my hotel, which my grandma said was supposed to be real famous. dont know about such things. haha. we took the mrt to her place. shanghais mrt is real convenient as well. plus the walk from the mrt to her house is really interesting! they have all these peddlers selling everything from jewellery to uh dogs, rabbit and terrapins.
(at this point of blogging i paused for a while to read evryone elses blogs, stone and feel hungry)
so yes. i love my m.grandparents place! theres this place just across the road thats uber good for shopping! ahhh i can live in there. (ok maybe not.) so yeah i bought all the little cute things i felt like i needed to last me to the next time i go there xD and YARN. :D:D:D:D i was super scared i couldnt get any yarn cos its summer and all but i was so lucky! theres only ONE STORE in that huge place that sells yarn and I FOUND IT. like i turned around and tada! plus before this i already went to a few places. im very proud of that purchase! now i can go and knit that longgg scarf i was hoping to.
our shopping time overshot so i missed my granduncle. DD: he came over specially to see us but he had to leave before we made it back D: i like my granduncle hes really tall and nice! like the only tall person in all my family members xD
so after that we headed over to my p.grandparents place again. my m.grandparents live in puxi but my p.grandparents live in pudong. so we have to keep crossing the river! but its quite cool, cos there are two ways to cross it, by the bridge or by the tunnel and we usually take the tunnel cos its closer. I LOVE TUNNELS. they're so cool! and this ones nice and long. :D
we had dinner with my p.uncle. his family is in san fransico. but hes here in shanghai working. he looks so much like my dad even i sometimes mix them up. esp from the back.
ive eaten a lot these few days D: i think ive grown fatttt.
day4, aka today, or yesterday, depending on where you are:
woke up and headed down to foodrepublic for brunch. yeah china foodrepublic! singaporeans have great influence/business ability.
after brunch we went straight to the airport. ): daddys not coming so we had to say goodbye )): too bad, maybe next time our holidays will coincide.
boarded the plane at 3pm shanghai time. and after 10 plus hours, here i am! in LA! and yes am feeling the jetlag + HUNGER. (i really need to eat less)
its around 2pm here, or 5am in singapore/shanghai haha. we're stopping by for a day before heading to florida tmr. D: so much flying to do. if theres one thing i hate its the flying. haha everything else is cool. i mean, its not that bad if you have something to do for 10 hours, but china esatern airlines DOES NOT HAVE AN INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. SCREW. ah wells, if buying cheaper air tickets means i get more money to spend on shopping then ill rather sleep for 10 hours thanks. xDxDxD
missing all the people in sg! sighs. but looking forward to tmr. after we land.

hello people! sorry my hotels internet happened to be not free, so i had to wait till i got over to my grandparents place to use the internet xD plus my own blog is not loading, so i cant reply tags at the moment.
anws, a lot had happened these two days. starting from the flight itself. it was a very coincidental flight! me my mom and my sis all managed to meet some person or another at the airport on fri night/sat morn. at the luggage check in counter, my mom found out that her friend and his son happened to be on our flight. and then at the departure hall, i spotted yuda in his bright green ora shirt having some difficulty with his biometric passport. ahahah. it was a o.o moment cos even though i knew we were having similar flight timings, i thought terminal 3 would be too big for us to bump into each other. and then after that at the waiting hall, my sis met a batchmate of hers.
the flight itself was less interesting, i conked out almost immediately xD this is a miraculous ability i picked up after the 23 hour flight to iowa for om world finals in 2006. haha. (maybe it was because i spent all 23 hours next to claire?:D:D no just kidding dear)
reached shanghai at like 5.30, although the sun was so high up in the sky it felt more like 3 in the afternoon. my dad and uncle came to pick us up! thank goodness, ill never have managed that HUGE suitcase filled with clothes AND BOOKS my mom decided to bring. my mom and sis are no help in this area, sadly.
headed over to my paternal grandparents house (where i am now) for breakfast. then we slept to about 11 before going over to my maternal uncles house to have lunch with his family and my maternal grandparents. lunch with my maternal family is always amazing, cos the shao family are AWESOME COOKS. all of them. plus they all have their specialty dishes, so when we do go over they all get down and dirty in the kitchen and whip up some of their specials. yes i am a lucky girl :D:D
after that we went to this place to get our hair cut. why do i have to go to shanghai to get my hair done? well haha. its a lot nicer here! i think its the competition or something but the service is really good. and the hairdresser really pays a lot of attention to detail. he makes me feel like every strand of hair on my head matters ahahaha. when you step out of the plance you really feel like you got your moneys worth. plus its cheaper. xD like uh SGD2 per haircut.
but of course there are disadvantages to shopping in shanghai as well. firstly, everyone is trying to SELL YOU STUFF. like seriously, the moment you step into the shop, its like everyone stands up and start moving towards you like vultures. and then throughout the haircut they keep telling you how terrible your hair is and need to get this and this treatment to make it all pretty. hahaha. annoys my mom like hell. the other disadvantage is that you have to actually be able to converse for half an hour in chinese with your hairdresser. xD
so after we got that thing down, we headed to our hotel at the heart of the city. we usually stay with either grandparents, but this time my dad decided to book us a hotel instead of mafaning them. they are after all, very old now.
after we checked in and got all that jazz down, we walked over to this peking duck place for dinner. a smaller version of reunion dinner with my uncle's family and both sets of grandparents. on the way, i stopped by a bookstore and bought three jimmy books. jimmy books are totally cheap here, like SGD5 per book? so i happily buy to my hearts content xD
so thats basically day one. sorry if this post is short/abrupt! my moms calling me to go shopping haha. so yes rush rush rush!
day two! which was today.
we woke up at like nearly 12 haha so lunch was first. we ate at some uh fancy modern restaurant where they serve all these new creative foods. quite cool lah i guess? my dad had 50% off voucher so we ate A LOT.
then after that we walked. to this strange beauty hospital thingy, where once again, my dad had a bunch of vouchers. haha he gets all these strange vouchers that he doesnt use xD my mom insisted my sis and i get our moles removed. she has this big one that she totally regrets not removing, so everytime any moles appear she gets us to remove it T.T PAINFUL PROCEDURE.
after that, we went SHOPPING. SHOPPING! hahahhaa. i love shopping. esp in shanghai, were everywhere is cheap :D. my mom, my sis and i walked down this street from the start to the end and popped into almost every shop. ahhh bliss. unfortunately my dad was around and he couldnt really understand WHY WE HAD TO VISIT EVERY SHOP. and WHY WE DIDNT JUST WALK IN BUY WTV WE WANT AND GET IT DOWN AND OVER WITH. hahaha men. so he tagged along and complained all the way while the rest of us, being females, blissfully ignored him. xD too bad we couldnt ditch him, he was the only on with money. :D:D:D
but yes, shopping is very very soul cleansing. and i have more of it to do. for the rest of today and tmr! before i head to usa. so see you guys! i will update when i next get my hands on an internet connection. enjoy the hols! im enjoying mine :D
