ok so, m.j isnt exactly part of our era. but still, think about it, babies born from today onwards wouldnt know who m.j. is unless they hear from other people! yeah so we dont know him either and only hear about him from the media but at least it was current. and he was always there, lurking around at the fringe of our consciousness...
but ah, i doubt we'll meet another guy as legacy-ush as m.j. was. child star who decides to peel off all his skin and goes on to build giant houses as theme parks and dangle babies out of windows? nah, he was a unique one.
as more and more people we've always known passes away, it just shows how fast we are growing too.

i see my mommy has taken the opportunity to clear my desk while i was in school. i can actually see my table now! im such a messy study-er sometimes i frighten myself xD
its 3.02 and usually i would be Freaking Out by this time about how i have accomplished nothing. but theres something about school, even if its not an official school day, that manages to make 3pm feel
early.
todays trip to school was kinda exciting, to say the least. i was due at lt4 at 10am for econs lecture, but made it to the braddell road bus stop only at 10. which means under normal circumstances i would be 5 mins late, except h1n1 isnt normal and the side gate was
locked. lockedddddd. (and the stupid other rj dude on the bus didnt find the need to tell me?! -angry-)
so i walked all around ri. funny how i knew the place i needed to be was just over that wall but cant get it! cue:
近在眼前，远在天边 ): it was upsetting. when i was finally finally at the gate (oh my 10.10! rawr!) i was greeted by this giant long queue for temperature taking.right.
whyyyyyy does h1n1 always come and annoy me?! why doesnt it go and annoy people who actually like it, like rohan?!
so i waited. patiently. then impatiently. then wondering if i should just skip econs all together and go look for someone to hang out with until rohan gets out of econs and lends me his notes. except rohan never takes notes.
by the time i got in it was 10.55 plus and i was in lt4 by 11.00. i have never been an hour late before T.T luckily the teacher was nice and repeated the first bit for all the latecomers. all hail
nice econs teachers!
after econs i went by the library for a bit to talk to theo whom ive not seen in eons, then bumped into gan on the way out so i stayed to talk somemore.
but now im home. and MATTHHHHHH CALLLLLSSSS.

i have no more posts written and saved into my gmail account, so everything from here on is written after the trip.
after that 6 days in chengdu, today we arrive in jiuzhaigou. which is amazing, so this post will be a picture post and short.
we were severly underdressed and so had to buy all our ski jackets on the spot. its cold here, but in a nice way- i hadnt expected to experience winter this trip, after all its JUNE. cold was nothing though, for it started to snow soon enough and i just had to get out of that warm cozy taxi into the blazing wind to take a picture. awesomezzz. there are a lot of tibetans here and the height and winding mountain roads have effectively reduced my mom and my sis to moaning puking lumps. for some reason im perfectly fine, except when i walk fast or for long periods of time then ill start to pant and get dizzy. but its not that bad.
the scenery here is awesome too, the rest of our trip will be by these pictures. out of all the places ive been, trust me its quite a few, this is the ultimate gorgeous place. so visit if you can :D

sichuan is prob the best place to go for ultimate relaxation. im serious! the pace of life here is so slowwwww. their fav pastime? drinking tea and playing mahjong/ poker. there are "teahouses" (a loosely used term xD) along every street. its common to just play mahjong for like 4 hours straight, sometimes i wonder guiltily how much econs i would have revised in those 4 hours. but ah, who cares. the ultimate is watching a group of mutes playing the game. rather eye-opening xD
tmr i climb mt emei. i hope i dont expire along the way D: today we visited the Giant Buddha and well, my treacherous journey doesnt seem to be ending because my fear of heights combined with my fear of stairs was very well contested today. check this out.
yes, i actually did it! im so proud of myself muahahahha.
after that, we played mahjong xD

ytd some bus burned up pretty close to where we were and 25 people died. the bus driver jumped and left the door locked. i have choice words for him but will not use them in this roughly pg13 space.
as much as sichuan is gorgeous (and have Seriously Spicy Food), you can still see very visible effects from the earthquake last year. we toured a few of the affected areas, and its pretty... eery. blocks and blocks of houses are left empty because the buildings are still unsafe and rows and rows of tents/ makeshift buildings house thousands of people. as much as it is, however, you realise that the spirit of the people here are really what brings them over and beyond (transcend!) the disaster. all those happy smiley hopeful faces you see on tv are not entirely all propaganda. along the streets you see victims of the earthquake playing poker, or squatted in a circle around one tiny tv. there are roadshows, shoppers and i even spotted a short fireworks sequence. its... rather encouraging, to say the least

it seems like im being constantly challenged in this trip. TODAY I CLIMBED A MOUNTAIN.
ok fine. so i took the cable car up most of the way, but hey! i walked down the whole way xD the lack of oxygen at the altitude didnt help, what with the billions of steps and all. im not lying when i say im Not Fit.
but ok fine. it was very pretty xD

i am DYING.
today was the first time i seriously contemplated the idea of dying from overeating. really. i hardly think i can move anymore. all hail the going-to-be-5kg gain! in fact, i pretty much started laughing to myself at the table when that idea occured to me. i think the host thought i was a bit wonked o.o
ive arrived at sichuan and its gorgeous here, compared to the chocked streets of shanghai. the next few days... seem to be filled with touring :D FUN. i am beginning to miss school though, although its only been like what, less than a week?
