just as ive thought about how proud i am to be part of rgs'08 batch this past week, ive also been thinking about how much i'll miss it. growing up in an all girls environment, from primary school to secondary school, has caused me to take somethings for granted, ive realised. and when we meet with the guys next year, these things that ive grown to appreciate all these years will no longer exist. i think its part of an exchange, gain some, lose some, but these losses will be missed.

being in an all girls school has its benefits. like we could talk to each other and understand how we feel, because we have has so many shared experiences. all that bitching, whining, laughing, crying etc. doesnt always replicate itself when you deal with guys. its a sisterhood of sorts. a sisterhood that has bonded us and brought us along this journey. it will be sorely missed.

and then there are those terrible habits that we've picked up along the way. like running into class and yelling "WHO HAS A ***?!" yeah, im guessing we wouldnt be hearing many of those next year. and i dont think we'll be changing in the classrooms anymore (oh how its annoys the male teachers). or talking about certain topics out in the open. no doubt, all of us will change next year, some more obviously then others. i just hope we'll still be recognisable.

which also brings me to the merger issue. im really glad rg isnt merging with ri. i think that this rgs journey has to be taken separately, not because we are too good to stick around with the ri guys, because it encompasses so much more then our academic stuffs. its the culture and tradition that we have now, which will no doubt be destroyed if we should ever merge. like how ripsb ended up merging with ripb, it would be difficult for rgspsb to hold our ground in the event of the merger. our motto, Daughters of a Better Age, will probably no longer apply. our school song? "Sisters in learning, sisters at heart". no more sarcastic pokes at our ri counterparts, no more heart-to-heart group talks about woman hood. yes, rgs will be on the losing end of the bargain.

and thus, i will appreciate my last few months in rgs to the best of my ability. (:
