I. today.

today was busy. more busy then usual, i mean. so if you've just got back from tiring, boring, busy day at school and really dont want to hear about another persons tiring, not so boring, busy day at school, you may skip this part entirely.

morning was the now-customary apcg update with joce. recess was taken with an impromptu meeting with mr lau and ms lim, also about apcg, which caused me to be late for physics. but ah wells. morning assembly was hp speech and qna sessions. qna is always interesting to watch. its really difficult to head a school of cynics like us xD tessa has done a good job. after school, lunch was taken by a surprise, see part II, as well as bio ces and math ces (which sadly, were occuring at the same time.) eventually i opted to eat instead of go for bio, but thankfully i had sarah to fill me in so i wouldnt be completely lost for spa on tues. (!!) following ces, i went off for trg. or rather, "trg". halfway through "trg", we found out that ihg captains ball was acutally going on right outside the courts and richard were short of players. so me, eden and cat begged coach to let us go and play instead of, well, "busying ourselves" with "trg". i could see the exasperation in his eyes. heh.

so yes, is very tired now from chasing my appointments arnd school as well as that dratted netball ball.

II. the SURPRISE.

MS TAN BENG CHIAK WAS LEAVING TODAY DDDDD: mr lim kindly informed me ytd. which means there was quite a frenzy to buy a card/ say goodbye/ various other things to bid her farewell, within the rabbers when i made the announcement in class today. plus we found out that mon was actually her birthday! so we ran over to the back of the staffroom where the pantry was and prompting belted out a birthday song much to the surprise of the rest of the bio dept xD or horror.

shes going on a four month trip arnd the world! coasta rica forests are in her travel plans. ENVIOUS! but sadly, that means that today would probably be the last time we'll see her this year, but then again im planning on returning to rg next year anws.

III. stereotypes

(as you may have realised by now. this post is a collection of the completely random thoughts put tgt in diff parts.)

mr lim: "you know ah, after i came to rgs, i realised that women are actually very independent people! so when yall grow up, you have to FIGHT THE STEREOTYPES."

mr lim con'td: " i am gender neutral! (class laughs) eh no i meant gender blind."

so yes, theres been quite some discussion on stereotypes in general these few days, esp since its our eng topic for the term.

stereotypes are of course, bad things, born out of humans need to catergorise our knowledge. sorta like in bio when we do categories and stuffs. being in an all girls school, you dont really feel it, because i mean, if we felt like we were being slighted, we'll just... well. you get the picture. esp when so many of us (me included, sadly, as proudly announced to the whole class by ms lim) are known to be the "domineering rgs girl". this of course presents a bit of a problem when we are happily emptied into society in a few years. i suspect we're hard to get along with. but i will try my best to be a nice person!

but thats out of the topic. of course i could go on forever on the issue, but im too tired and it wouldnt make the world a better place anws.

IV. chinese

my chinese standards are dismally disappointing. so, from now onwards i will try to post a 100% chinese post, probably one every two weeks? as a minimalistic attempt to make my chinese a tad better.

and if you are those people who falsely think my chinese is good, im sorry to disappoint. it is truely terrible. only my spoken chinese is ok, which is all i need for life anws since in the future ill probably just type all my chinese letters, but that isnt what the exam requires, sadly.

grace can vouch for me.

V. superband

speaking about chinese, theres a rgs technician, and form what ive heard, a few rgs girls in superband. -shrugs-

VI. scrubs?

"let's go in scrubs!" was what sarah chong suggested excitedly when it was announced that next tuesday is "be yourself day" or rather, "wear anything you want to school day". its her idea of imitating greys anatomy people. scaryly, i think we'll be going through with her plan. provided we can find scrubs in the first place.

VII. the future

psb gm on thurs provided us all with a glimpse into psbs future. and i must say its looking bright. im really proud of the next gen, as well as greatly saddened by them, because now that makes us the older gen! with the handover looming ahead, i can only hope that ive been a good senior to my juniors, because how successful you've been as a senior can only be determined by how much you've inspired your junior. and i really do hope i have, even if its just one person.

also the lessons ive learnt from psb, i will bring with me always, even after i graduate. for them, i thank the psb. you guys have given me so much more then i had ever expected to receive.
