i am almost ashamed to say this. but...

dr slatters class is almost as good as Ms May Tans.

dont get me wrong now. despite her um, rather controversial personality, i accredit my current interest in chem (all time high, mind you) wholly to her. sure, shes not the extremely encouraging kind (ive pretty much lost count of how many times my wses have been returned to me with NONSENSE printed neatly in red), although she can be at times, or the extremely kind teachers (try being late for her class). but Ms May Tan, with her no-nonsense attitude, have single-handed raised a passion for chem in me that previously existed, if at all, merely in a spark. its her clampdown on mistakes and dangers that bred a cautious chemist in me, her sharp attention to detail that honed my observation skills and her challenging lessons that have kept me on my toes (or pentips) for these two years, making her classes all the more interesting (even if you do emerge from them feeling like you've just fought WWIII but cant figure out if you won or not). i dont use this pharse lightly, when i say that Ms May Tan has quite sufficiently, single-handedly changed my life and i thank God for blessing me with the honour of being in her class.

so, naturally, i thought that there certainly cant be another class like Ms May Tan's classes. esp with the rumours (or truths) circling certain other members of our chem dept. but today, dr slatter came close.

in fact, if there were any bad points at all, there will only be two.

1. im too used to Ms May Tan's bullet-train speed classes, so todays 3-hour long practical (HA! DOESNT EXIST IN MS MAY TANS WORLD) which resulted in all but 5 general learning points was a little laggy.
2. im also too used to being in a small class, where the teacher can actually pay attention to each individual student. not so much so in a 30 person class. i fear for next years 50 person classes. D:

besides that, both of which Could Not Be Avoided, it was pretty GREAT. if i do use one word to describe both Ms May Tan and dr slatters lessons, it would be enlightening. in fact, i may even consider taking h3 chem next year. (though that depends on if i can handle the rest of the subjs next year) we touched on aldehydes and ketones (ORG CHEM :D:D:D) and would probably start on pharm chem in the next few lessons (i have one tmr). im looking forward to them! xD

as a sidenote, depp appeared on mobtv today on my way home. <33
