so orientation has ended, and i cant really decide how i feel.
one part of me is immensely glad its over. dont get me wrong. orientation itself were a blast and the activities were a lot of fun. the oteam certainly did an awesome job prepping, and my ogls are wonderful. my og mates are all fantastic people.
but at the end of the day, we are fantastic people individually. together? not so. i feel kinda bad for saying this, but try as i might i cannot find that emotional bond that promises a lasting friendship. which is pretty rare considering how long orientation lasted. we are enthu because we are enthu people, we cheer because its in our character to do so, we go for og dinners every night because it is an obligation (or maybe because we hope it may give us more time to discover that missing connection). i may know everyones names, most peoples cca and some peoples subj combi, but at the end of the day i can only say ive made 20 acquaintances. and i can safely say none of the people in my og know me well enough to consider me a friend.
personally i havent had the opportunity to get to max enthu yet, not considering wargames because i wasnt with my og in that. in fact i was pretty much quieter than normal throughout orientation, and for those who know me relatively well, thats a rare if not
scary concept.
its not like its anyones fault. the oteam certainly tried their best, and so did my ogls. most people in the og tried as well, i know i did. a lot of times the click is something we all chance upon and in this case, i guess i missed it.
so let it be. but i had really really hoped we were like this all the time.
