disregarding my recent state being for a while (aka 撇开最近的情绪不谈, because its sounds nice and i just wanted to include it) , i really just want to talk about art in this post.

cant rmb if i mentioned it, but ive started lessons. the first was last week. the final purpose of the lessons is to learn fundamental oil, but no one jumps into oil straight away so its going to be much more than that.

the preliminary lessons proved that i possessed sufficient sketching skills to move on from pencil, so ive been given the green light to start on charcoal this sunday. charcoal is a brand new medium for me, so im pretty excited. in fact, i just got my materials today and cant wait to put pen charcoal to paper xD

ive pretty much forgotten how it felt like to sit down for 2 hours, look at something and think of nothing but shadows and shape. its a very... therapeutic? experience and given the hours to look forward to in school, probably the only time my brain can rest besides sleep. i do hope i can keep this up, however, but i speculate future free time, so i think i can handle 2 hours a week.

the downside to all of thss is that while drawing bottles of different transparency can be highly satisfying at the end, theres not much emotion involved in traditional forms of art. i mean, you could make the bottle look lonely or overcrowded by arrangement, but theres no such thing as a sad or happy bottle so theres only so much you can go. and given that 2 hours a week pretty much satisfies my art cravings and takes up the time i allocate to random drawing every wek, ill pretty much be hard pressed for time and energy to complete any of the other random pieces i come up with.

but we'll deal with that when it arrives. after all, ive been known to drop everything and just draw. heehee.

i put up pieces when they are completed and i have the time. the first ones not too special so ill leave it for the time being, but there will be better ones to come as i begin on charcoal.
