i cant really remember which day last week it occurred to me, but i distinctively remember i was trying to catch some sleep. with my head on the table and my eyes closed in exhaustion, i listened to the sounds of 3G in the background.
and then i realised how at home i felt, how right it felt and how beautiful it felt.
since the start of the year, this would be the first post exclusively on 3G and 3G alone. true, the first term i was pretty much too hung up over leaving 411 to sort out space in my heart for this new and foreign class. after all, after being in a class like 411 any other class is pretty hard to measure up. its sounds selfish i know, and narrow-minded, but i missed 411 like crap and refuse to apologise for it. i still do, but i knew, of course, that 411 was over and that 3G would be the class for the next two years. but while everyone else celebrated their new classes, i wanted to wait until i truly loved it before i do the same.
and now i do.
not in the 411 way of course, my sisters will forever have a little corner in my heart. but 3G is something special. everyone kept telling me that "your class is fun!" and i agree. we are fun.
we play games ever single lunch break. but thats not why i love it. loving a class just because you have lots of fun together, is in my opinion, not a good enough reason. instead, the ability to appreciate every member of the class, understand that it is the idiosyncrasies of every member that adds to the overall character of the class and that 3G is only 3G because we are made up of these people... thats something that takes time. but once you get it, you get it.
im still not there yet, but im confident the next 2 years will be good ones, even if the weeks come in vicious cycles of exhaustion. 311... wasnt as wonderful as 411 was, frankly, so i do hope 3G at the end of next year will be one i would love and remember as much as 411.
