am taking a break from econs intense recall session part 1: demand and supplyyyyy.
the break ends in 14 mins. hurry up blogblogblog!
haha i also dunno why i blog so often and so bountifully these days. maybe its cos i know people read ^^ and with the pressure of promos bearing down upon on us (or in gans special case, As hello wolf (: ) it makes me and other people feel better when we read blogposts that are filled with nonsensical rubbish! yay me!
now what was i- oh yes! hahaha today is like CHINAS 60 ANNIVERSARY and it kinda disturbs me how much hooha there is over this whole thing! like the WORLD looks at china and its awesome missile-firing-weapons-including military parade across beijing. gah. and my dad being the china-lover-cum-communist that he is has been talking about china for the wholeeeee day. and my fb homepage is filled with people congratulating china for its awesome anniversary.

(compare to singapores measly dont-even-have-enough-people-to-fill-parade-area ndp)
not that i dont love china or wtvs. or think that it has really come a long way and yes, deserves a pat on the back. its just its way of patting itself on the back that bugs me. like hello extravaganzaaaaa much! sureeeee, show the world your military might, host celebrations that require you to shut down your airport for a couple of hours. because you know, being the economic power you are you can afford all that millions of dollars. and of course, telling the world HELLO I AM CHINA I DID ALL THIS WITH COMMUNISM HAH YOU DEMOCRACY ADVOCATES is very impt.
again, i do love china. really hahahaa.
and i also realised, that for countries that have had only one party's leadership since its independence (think Singapore as well), national days are really an awesome opportunity for a healthy dose of propoganda. "this is how WE have turned this country from THIS to TODAY. yay
us you!"
(aiyah! break over alr!)
not to forget, the emphasis on national accomplishments and pride is a very good way to reinforce national values and ideals and make people temporarily forget social dissent.
AIEEEEE no time alr. aiyah you get my point. yay china i love you very much even though i dont always agree with the things you do.
time to return to part 2: costs and market structure! (:
